This headstone in the Rural Cemetery really stood out to me when I saw it for a couple of reasons. 1) Hunting season is getting into full force here in Cortland. This is something new for us as no one hunted in Northern VA, at least not physically in the area. It is interesting to see the direct connection with the local hunting culture. 2) This is the only one headstone I saw that was this new and in color. 3) It made me think that while I don't know who Homer was or if that was his first or last name, I do know that he loved to hunt and wanted to be remembered for it for all time. What would I want to be remembered for? Hummmm.
Thanks for stopping by.
