My neighbor walked over as I was shooting this oil-bow to see what was going on. He thought there was something odd going on as he had never seen anyone take a picture of oil on the road before. Sometimes these things are just in the eye of the beholder and everyone else thinks you are a bit nuts. Nutty is often the more creative.

I also live in Reston, I came across your blog when doing a google search for pre-schools in Reston. I was trying to find parents of pre-schoolers in Reston, that blog and maybe wrote something up about their child/childrens pre-school.

Anyway, The picture of the "Oil-Bow" is beautiful. My life has changed a bit lately due to some very serious health conditions and it has really made me slow down and see the beauty in some of the "nuttier" things.

Quite nice and rainbow like. It goes with the saying that goes along the lines of photographers show others what is there but that they are unable to see!

Thanks very much for the comments.

Laurie, I have kids in pre-school in Reston and would be happy to discuss our school.
