I tried a number of different angles on this image from both sides of the main boom. This was my favorite, but I also liked some from the other side. I thought about cranking down the aperture to get more DOF on this; however, I decided to let the trailing boat go blurry.

This is my favorite of the sailboat series. I think having the disant boats out of focus strengthens the shot. Very nice.

I am glad you are enjoying those shots. I have several more from that series that I will eventually get posted. I suppose Bodie made as deep an impression on your mother in law as it did on me. I will be thinking about it for a long time.
