I had to wait a long time to get this shot. Not that it took long to get it once I got on site at Battery Heights in Manassas National Battlefield Park, but it took a long time for it to snow here in VA such that I could get a shot of cannons in the snow. I think I had to wait two winters before I had a chance where snow and opportunity matched up. Of course I ended up taking a lot of images that day, until I got worried that my camera and lens were going to be snow-covered too.

Beau, it was worth the wait. The composition speaks volumes. This is full of feeling. Thanks for sharing it with your viewers. I am glad it was you, not me, trudging about in the snow (I'm a southwest type), but I appreciate your devotion. And, I'm glad your camera survived!
Thanks Anita. I really appreciate it. Hope all it well.
